PMU Brows Removal: Before and After One Session

At Studio Kiku, we’ve seen all kinds of brows come through our doors—brows that were once warm brown but faded to orange, brows with deep red undertones, and everything in between. As we explained in our previous blog post, it’s completely normal for pigments to shift colors during the removal process. Most commonly, the dark color fades to reveal red, orange, or even yellow undertones that were previously masked by the top layers of pigment.

But every now and then, we get lucky.

This before-and-after photo is the perfect example of that.

This client came to us with dark, well-saturated permanent makeup brows. We expected the usual process—laser the brows, wait for the dark to lift, and watch to see what colors emerged underneath.

To our surprise, there were no undertones. No red, no orange, no yellow. Just clean, even fading.

The dark pigment lifted beautifully in a single session, revealing smooth, neutral skin underneath. This is not the norm—most clients require several sessions to break through the different pigment layers, and it’s very common to see red or orange hues appear along the way.

But once in a while, we see cases like this. The pigment was likely formulated with fewer warm-based ingredients, and the skin responded exceptionally well to the PicoWay laser we use. It’s a great reminder of just how effective our technique can be under the right conditions.

One session. No undertones. Just clean results.

If you’re considering removing your permanent makeup or have questions about how your pigment might behave, we’re always happy to do a consultation. Every case is different, but results like this show what’s possible at Studio Kiku.
