About Studio Kiku
Inspired by Japanese precision.
Top-quality tattoo removal and skin care, delivered with the utmost care, in a safe, comfortable, and respectful environment.
Our story
Studio Kiku was founded by Billy DeCola in 2019. After years of tattooing and performing scalp micropigmentation (SMP), Billy saw a clear need for a safe, dedicated removal service, and began offering laser tattoo removal out of his private tattoo studio in Burnaby. What started as a specialized companion service has since grown into one of North America's leading laser tattoo removal clinics, with a team of highly trained laser technicians delivering the protocols Billy developed from years of working firsthand with pigment and skin.
Studio Kiku is now recognized as a Key Opinion Leader for Candela, the global leader in medical aesthetic devices, for its excellence in service and results.
The Kiku
Studio Kiku is named after the Japanese Kiku, or Chrysanthemum. The Kiku carries rich symbolism deeply embedded in Japanese culture, associated with virtues like longevity and rejuvenation, and admired for its ability to bloom late into the season. A metaphor for endurance and vitality.
The Founder
Billy DeCola
Billy started tattooing in 2009 at Miami Ink, went on as a cast member on TLC's hit reality TV series NY Ink, and later expanded into Scalp Micropigmentation - becoming an educator and co-developing the Solid Ink x Billy DeCola SMP pigment line.
In 2019, after years of clients asking for help with coverup prep and permanent makeup corrections, he acquired his first PicoWay system and began building what would become Studio Kiku. The protocol was developed through repetition and refinement. His background as a tattooer - understanding pigment, depth, and how skin responds over time - is built into every step.
Studio Kiku began franchising in 2023, built on four principles: safety, results, experience, and accessibility. The brand also runs a community giveback program offering complimentary removals to people in addiction recovery, cancer survivors, and former gang members.

What clients say
“Despite being heavily tattooed (and working at a tattoo studio) I was very apprehensive about getting laser treatment, but I'm so so happy I went through with it at Studio Kiku with Ailie. I had my brows microbladed 6 years ago and I desperately needed to get them fixed.”
Erin
“Highly recommend! Everyone is friendly and professional. The studio is immaculate. They explain the process and expected results thoroughly & listen to your needs. I've had great results with PMU eyebrow removal at Studio Kiku. Their pricing is fair/competitive and I'm a huge fan of transparent pricing.”
Stacey King
