Scalp Micropigmentation
The look of hair. Without surgery.
A non-invasive cosmetic tattoo that conceals thinning, baldness, alopecia, and hair-transplant scars with the realistic appearance of hair. Performed personally by Billy DeCola at Studio Kiku Vancouver and Langley.
What SMP is, and what it solves.
SMP is a cosmetic tattoo performed on the scalp, applied with fine needles and pigment to mimic the look of natural hair follicles. Done well, the result is indistinguishable from a freshly shaved or fuller head of hair, depending on the goal.
SMP at Studio Kiku is performed personally by founder Billy DeCola, a professional tattoo artist who has been practising scalp micropigmentation since 2015. It is not offered by other technicians on the team. Billy is based out of our Vancouver and Langley studios, and travels to other Studio Kiku locations on a rotating schedule if travel is the easier option for you.
“It's one thing to make a pretty picture on someone's arm. It's another thing to eliminate someone's confidence buster.”
What we treat
Four common applications.

SMP for Male Pattern Baldness
Restore your hairline and create the illusion of a full head of realistic, shaved hair with Scalp Micropigmentation.

SMP for Female Thinning
Create the illusion of a full head of natural, healthy hair by reducing the contrast between the light scalp and dark hair.

SMP for Hair Transplant Scars
Conceal FUE & FUT hair transplant scars by seamlessly blending into existing hair with Scalp Micropigmentation.

SMP for Alopecia
Conceal patchy or total hair loss caused by alopecia with Scalp Micropigmentation. SMP is today's most popular, non-invasive, and cost-effective solution.
