The Vaughan studio at 3255 Rutherford Road, Unit 21, in Concord held its grand opening on Sunday, October 18, from 5 to 9 PM. The evening started with a ribbon at the front door and finished with a full studio.

The photos and the 41-second video below are from the night.

A ribbon at the door of Unit 21

A balloon arch in black, white and gold framed the front door from the start of the evening. Just after 6 PM, the Vaughan team stepped outside under the Studio Kiku sign and cut the ribbon.

Food, drinks and a DJ

The food table carried sliders, shrimp satay skewers, vegetable spring rolls and deep-fried shrimp wontons, beside tiers of cupcakes topped with the Studio Kiku logo. A bar mixed drinks from a printed menu, and a DJ played from a table against the teal wall, next to a spin-to-win prize wheel.

A laser demonstration on a team member

At about 6:30, a member of the Vaughan team sat down in a treatment room for a laser demonstration on her arm. The technician, the team member and the people watching from inside the room all wore protective glasses.

One session can't show what removal looks like. The laser breaks the pigment into smaller particles, and the body carries them away over the weeks that follow, which is why sessions at Studio Kiku are spaced at least 8 weeks apart. It can take 2 to 3 sessions before the difference is easy to see, and complete removal commonly takes 9 to 12.

For your own tattoo, the place to start is a free consultation. The tattoo gets a close look, your health history gets reviewed, and you leave knowing roughly how many sessions to expect and how laser tattoo removal would work on it.

A full studio by evening

By a quarter to eight the studio was full, and the room was still crowded after 8:30. Studio Kiku thanks everyone who came out to Rutherford Road, and the Vaughan team for putting the evening together.
