Laser tattoo removal at the NIX Toronto Tattoo Convention

Studio Kiku gave away a Complete Removal Package at the NIX Toronto Tattoo Convention, and one client is now starting their removal journey.

The NIX Toronto Tattoo Convention draws thousands of people who love, collect, and create tattoos. Studio Kiku was there this summer, and the studio brought something that caught a lot of attention: a giveaway for a Complete Removal Package, offered to one client who visited the convention and connected with the team.

That winner is now one of the very first clients through the doors of Studio Kiku's Vaughan location. Their removal journey starts now.

How the Complete Removal Package works

The Complete Removal Package is a flat-rate option for clients committed to fully removing a tattoo, rather than fading it for a coverup or stopping partway. The package covers as many PicoWay sessions as it takes to reach the maximum clearance possible. There is no per-session billing that catches clients off guard as treatments accumulate.

"Complete removal package covers as many sessions as needed to reach maximum amount of fading," says Billy DeCola, Studio Kiku founder. "That just means that we'll do it until we've reached either a plateau or if we've removed it completely, one or the other."

For clients who have a tattoo they want completely gone, the package removes the uncertainty of not knowing how many sessions or how much money the process will ultimately require. Clients pay one rate at the outset and commit to the full removal process from there.

Why a laser removal studio attends tattoo conventions

Tattoo conventions are where the tattoo community gathers, and removing tattoos has always been part of that community's reality. Clients modify their collections, change careers, have a change of heart, or simply want their skin back. A laser removal studio and a convention floor full of tattoo artists share more clientele than most people assume.

Billy DeCola, Studio Kiku's founder, has been part of the tattoo industry for more than 15 years, including time on Miami Ink and TLC's NY Ink. The studio approaches removal from that same vantage point: respect for the work clients carry, paired with honest information about what clearing it actually involves.

Attending the NIX Toronto Tattoo Convention was a natural extension of that connection. The team answered questions, talked through the process with convention visitors, and offered one client the chance to start a complete removal journey at no cost. That client is now at the Vaughan location, beginning treatment with the PicoWay.

What the first session at Studio Kiku Vaughan looks like

The Vaughan studio is at 3255 Rutherford Road, right outside Vaughan Mills Mall. It accepts walk-ins during studio hours and the consultation is always free.

Before any treatment begins, the team reviews the tattoo in person, discusses the client's goals and health history, explains how the laser tattoo removal process works, and gives an honest read on what the realistic outcome looks like. That conversation happens whether the client booked in advance or walked through the door that day.

The PicoWay delivers concentrated laser energy to the tattooed pigment, shattering it into particles small enough for the body's lymphatic system to clear over time. The fading develops gradually between sessions, not immediately after them. Most clients see little visible change after the first session and are told to expect that. Sessions are spaced at least eight weeks apart to give the body time to process the dispersed pigment before the next treatment.

The first appointment also covers aftercare in detail: what to do in the first 24 hours, how to protect the area, what to avoid, and what to watch for as the skin heals. That information is given both verbally and in writing before the client leaves.

The honest part

The Complete Removal Package is not a guarantee of complete removal. Some pigment, particularly whites, light blues, and pinks, may not fully clear regardless of how many sessions are completed. Scar tissue from the original tattooing can also limit how effectively the laser reaches the pigment underneath.

The package is not available for coverup tattoos, tattoos with significant scar tissue, or tattoos that have already undergone laser or saline removal elsewhere. The team reviews all of these factors at the consultation before any package is sold.

The NIX convention winner will go through the same thorough assessment every new client receives. If the tattoo is a strong candidate for full removal, the process moves forward. If there are factors that would limit the outcome, the team will say so clearly and help the client understand what is actually achievable.

There is no pressure to commit to a package at the first visit. The consultation is informational, and clients decide what they want to do after getting the full picture.

If you have been considering laser tattoo removal in the Greater Toronto Area, the Vaughan studio is open and taking clients. Walk in during studio hours or book a consultation online. The team will look at your tattoo in person and tell you honestly what to expect. Book a free consultation at any of Studio Kiku's three locations in Vancouver, Langley, or Vaughan.
