Kiku

Studio Kiku is named after the Japanese Kiku or Chrysanthemum. The Japanese Kiku carries rich symbolism deeply embedded in Japanese culture. It is associated with virtues such as longevity and rejuvenation. This flower is admired for its beauty, resilience and ability to bloom late into the season, making it a metaphor for endurance and vitality.

Our Story

Billy DeCola is the owner of Studio Kiku. His tattooing background and his extensive knowledge about pigment & skin is what sets the studio apart from the other tattoo removal clinics.

Billy’s tattoo career began at the world-famous Miami Ink Tattoo Studio in Miami Beach in 2009. From 2010-2012 Billy appeared on TLC’s hit reality TV series ‘NY Ink’ which aired in 186 countries worldwide.

In 2012 Billy opened a private studio in Vancouver where he tattooed and began offering scalp micropigmentation, a new form of cosmetic tattooing. He quickly became an authority in the booming SMP industry, and he shared his knowledge through group trainings, online courses and at tattoo conventions hosting seminars. In 2018 he collaborated with Solid Ink to produce the Solid Ink x Billy DeCola SMP Pigment line which is distributed worldwide.

Billy purchased his first PicoWay in 2019 to accommodate his client base who often requested coverups and/or removal recommendations for tattoos and botched permanent makeup. The tattoo removal system that he created, utilizing the world’s most advanced laser technology, enabled Studio Kiku to successfully remove stubborn cosmetic pigments including microblading, ombre, nano & combo brows, faux freckles, lip blush and SMP. Studio Kiku’s signature technique has clients coming to Vancouver from all over the world for safe and effective laser tattoo removal services.

In 2023, Billy’s decision to franchise Studio Kiku’s marks a strategic leap into broader accessibility and empowerment within the tattoo & beauty industries. By extending their laser removal system through franchising, Studio Kiku not only offers a safe and effective method of laser removal, but also creates opportunities for entrepreneurs to delve into a thriving market with a turnkey system.
