Classes stay small. First, you watch Billy, Ailie and Jamie treat. Then you perform each step yourself, with an instructor beside you.
Overview
Two days in Vancouver or Langley. You learn laser theory, Class IV safety, client screening, settings, endpoints, treatment technique and aftercare on the PicoWay. Every student works on live models under close supervision from technicians who treat clients every week at Studio Kiku.

- Fading for a cover-up versus complete removal
- Typical session counts and the interval between them
- How the two days run
- Picosecond and nanosecond lasers compared
- Wavelengths and the pigment colours they target
- Fluence, spot size, and pulse duration
- How pigment fragments, and how the body clears it
- The Fitzpatrick scale and why skin type drives settings
- Screening at booking, at the appointment, and in the room
- Medical history, medications, allergies, and waivers
- Pre-care that affects same-day safety
- On-day hard stops, and permanent makeup containing white pigment
- Reading the treatment endpoint
- Pass technique and overlap
- Adjusting within protocol, and when to stop
- Positioning by body area, from hands and fingers to the head
- Equipment and setup for each area
- Technician ergonomics across a full day
- Keeping access to the foot pedal and the emergency stop
- Class IV protocols and the controlled treatment zone
- Eye protection by zone, for the technician and the client
- Cooling before and throughout a treatment
