Chemical Peel Aftercare

Once you have had your chemical peel session, it’s critical to follow the aftercare instructions closely. At Studio Kiku, our goal is to ensure that you get the very best results from your chemical peel. By following these instructions you’ll help speed up the healing process and you’ll prevent any complications that may arise from negligent aftercare practices.

Chemical peel for complexion
  • Avoid sun exposure for two weeks, apply SPF daily
  • Avoid cream make-up for the first 24 hours
  • Avoid any exfoliating products on the treatment area for 2 weeks (retinol, salicylic acid, BHA, AHA’s, enzymes, physical scrubs)
  • Use hydrating serums and moisturizers multiple times a day for the first 3 days to mitigate skin peeling
  • If skin peeling occurs, refrain from peeling off. Very carefully use a warm soft wash cloth to sloth off if necessary, being careful to not peel skin more
  • Mild redness and/or itchiness may be experienced for the first 24-48 hours

    * Remember, amount of skin peeling does not equate to how effective the treatment was

To speed up recovery and achieve the best results from your chemical peel, we suggest using suitable skincare pre and post-treatment. It’s ideal to use a gentle cleanser and hydrating serum or moisturizer to keep your skin clean and hydrated.

Most importantly, daily SPF use is essential to protect your skin from UV rays and blue light, which can contribute to pigmentation and skin aging.
